Bridesmaids Style Inspiration Guide

One thing we look forward to seeing at any wedding is the bridesmaids style!

And what is one of the best parts of being a bride and planning your wedding? Support and love from your girls, of course! Bridesmaids are such a fun part of every wedding day, so we wanted to dedicate a post to them! Hopefully this will give you lots of inspiration for choosing your bridesmaids style.

It can be hard to decide on the perfect look for your bridesmaids that’s cohesive while still being eye-catching. With lots of different personalities, it may get a bit stressful to find a style that everyone agrees on. But there are SOOOO many options out there these days and it’s definitely easier than it used to be! Here are some of our favorite bridesmaid’s looks from the past couple of years.

We love when brides choose different dresses for their bridesmaids! It’s a fun way to show off everyone’s individual personality and add some intrigue to your photos while still keeping everything cohesive. There are so many options when you go this route, the possibilities are endless! Just give your girls a color palette and style to follow (like neutrals or floor length) and then they can find what works best for them. Plus, look how amazing the variety looks in pictures with the bouquets! The flowers really pop don’t they? Gorgeous!

These bridesmaid dresses below include different textures which we absolutely love to see. Textures like lace, velvet, beads, and silk add dimension which is so stunning in photos! Don’t be afraid to mix different patterns and prints as well – when it’s done intentionally and with plenty of thought, it’s gorgeous.

These ladies are showing off some beautiful dresses that are all within a cohesive color palette! Mismatched bridesmaid dresses is a great way to add in some variety to your overall wedding look. Plus, it allows you to feature multiple shades in your color palette instead of having to choose just one! It’s a win win.

If the mismatched look isn’t for you, don’t stress! There are other great ways to give your bridesmaids a little more freedom without looking too different. One idea is to have each of your bridesmaids wear the same color dress, but in different styles! Everyone is still coordinating, but with slight differences. This option has become more popular in recent years because it’s so convenient and makes for a great look!

Another option that we love is to just give your maid of honor a different dress, which you’ll see a few times in these photos. It’s a fun way to make her stand out and feel extra special!

We also REALLY gravitate towards the light, nude-colored bridesmaid look. We are also obsessed with black bridesmaids dresses, which we’ve been seeing more of lately, and we’re here for it. The similarity of the nude colored dresses and the contrast of the black ones are so striking and unique!

Also, we LOVE when brides have cute jackets for their bridesmaids to wear for some of the pictures! We saw this a few times at weddings this year, and it was seriously so fun! We love the black and white contrast below, as well as the black pea coat look that the bride chose for her winter wedding. So unique!

Finally, you can never go wrong with the classic all-the-same-dress look. Which we have to say, when done well is just as stunning as any of these other styles. We can’t get over how elegant and clean it looks, especially in photos! How stunning are these bridesmaids?

Thank you for hanging out with us! We hope this bridesmaid style guide gave you some inspiration for your own bridesmaid looks – and if you know any brides who could use some fabulous ideas for their bridesmaids, pass it along!
