Bright and Colorful Wedding at Mae’s Ridge | Melissa + Jason

As florists, we have the opportunity to be a part of so many incredible wedding days that vary in styles, colors, and design. It is truly so inspiring to see styles vary from couple to couple. We also adore how it provides a look into their relationship and love story! Melissa and Jason’s bright and colorful wedding was held at the beautiful and versatile Mae’s Ridge. This venue may just be #1 for us! (Not that we’re picking favorites…) We have been out here so many times and love seeing how it transforms for each couple.

Melissa and Jason’s wedding flowers were colorful and fun!

They loved the idea of using bright pinks, oranges, and yellows, which is different from what we usually do and we fell in love! Sometimes color can be tricky. You can do it so right or you can go a little too far and feel like your crayon box exploded! Luckily, Melissa and Jason knew what they were doing and proved that it’s all about the details. They incorporated their color palette in their place settings, custom signage, table linens and so much more, pulling their wedding together in a really cool way.

With colors in varying shades of pink, red, yellow, and orange, it’s no surprise that their wedding day was glowing even though the sky was rather gloomy.

We had the most delicious peonies that absolutely stole the show in Melissa’s bouquet – seriously soooo perfect! Melissa’s bouquet was an asymmetrical shape that just exploded with texture and vibrant corals, yellows, and blush. Her bridesmaids held petite bouquets filled with the same roses and ranunculus she had and a small taste of the dried palm we saw throughout the whole design.

The fun doesn’t stop there!

Melissa and Jason’s ceremony and reception were absolutely GORGEOUS. Let’s start with that altar! Mae’s Ridge provides such a gorgeous backdrop and their gold frame altar is the perfect blank slate for clients to dream up a ceremony install that suits their style. For their ceremony, Melissa and Jason went with a half-moon floor installation, and wow was it perfect! We used so many fun dried florals to create their desert-colored dreamscape. Orange dyed pampas, red protea, dried palms, and lots and lots of fluffy yellows made this feel like we were walking through a sunset.

The reception was set up inside a beautiful white room with tall vaulted ceilings.

Community-style tables had been dressed in gorgeous white linen that complemented the chairs oh so nicely and also tied in with the white walls and ceiling. The crisp white allowed Melissa and Jason’s wedding colors to really POP! We decorated their tables with artistically designed centerpieces. Can we take a moment for how stunning that yellow butterfly ranunculus is!? To tie the floral into the rest of the design, Melissa and Jason went with a mustard-colored velvet napkin, amber cut crystal water goblets and gold flatware. It was truly the definition of golden hour, which their cake display emphasized!

Two rectangular coral and peach pillars held the beautiful and colorful four-tiered cake. Behind it was a custom pink neon sign that said “you’re my golden hour” and it seriously could not have been a more perfect quote for Melissa and Jason! We were able to install an incredibly fun floral piece on the upper right-hand corner of this vignette and complemented it with a smaller piece on the lower left side. Some gorgeous taper candles really finished off the look and it was the perfect photo backdrop!

While their bright and colorful wedding day as a whole was absolutely divine, we did have one little detail that really stole our hearts; their seating chart.

Like we said before, something we love is how easily couples are able to express themselves and tell their love story through their wedding design! Melissa and Jason are perfect examples of that. They met at a Target (which, dream situation am I right?!) and wanted to include that somehow in their wedding day, but not in an obvious way. So, what did they do? They created seating assignments that looked like little targets in their wedding colors and accented with the cutest little tassel chain! We were seriously so obsessed and in awe of how creative this was!

Melissa and Jason, you two are golden! Thank you for inviting us into your vision. It was seriously a dream to create and see it all come together for such a vibrant couple like you.
