Neutral and Airy Wedding at Prospect House

High school sweethearts, Emily and Juan, met through mutual friends back in 2013 and have been pretty much inseparable ever since. Their relationship powered through college and graduate school and their love grew stronger with each year! Now, after so many beautiful years together they finally tied the knot during their wedding at Prospect House. It’s strong love like Emily and Juan’s that keeps inspiring us daily! They have witnessed so many eras of life together and now are walking towards a new journey together as Mr. and Mrs.

Planning the Details

After hearing their story we knew that this wedding day was going to be absolutely filled with passion and dedication, not only to one another but to the planning process as well! From the day we started chatting about all things flowers with Emily, we were absolutely hooked on her ideas and couldn’t wait to get our hands on some floral designing. Emily and Juan hired Carissa of Momentous Wed to assist in the planning and design of the day. Emily herself is a detail-oriented QUEEN, but together Emily and Carissa came up with some gorgeee ideas! It made designing the wedding flowers SO. MUCH. FUN! Emily’s knack for detail led to some iconic floral moments that we loved creating for her (that hanging floral wheel installation at reception… ummmmm obsessed!) To add the cherry on top of what was going to be a stunning wedding day, Emily and Juan chose Prospect House as their wedding venue. Some of our favorite weddings have happened at Prospect House and we were sooo stoked to return for another great day!

Modern, Airy Floral Design

For Emily and Juan we turned Prospect House into an airy modern dreamscape. We fell in loveeeee with their style: A neutral color palette, artistic floral design, dried accents…it was all incredibly thought out (naturally, I mean Emily was totally on top of it)! When it came to flowers Emily and Juan wanted to keep things neutral but interesting. We came up with a gorgeous mix of fresh flowers such as roses, sweet peas, and carnations and contrasted them with dried yarrow, bunny tails, intricate branches, and a bit of pampas.

Emily envisioned structurally designed florals that had a clean, modern touch and gave off a very airy feel. We were able to bring that vision to life by designing a climbing floral effect on their ceremony arch. Thicker, fresh flowers filled the base of the arch and delicate branches climbed up the sides allowing space to draw the eye in towards the structural design. We carried this theme through to their reception by incorporating delicate floral designs on their reception tables. Clear glass vases and floral frogs allowed us to bring her dream to life – she LOVED it! Honestly, the reception design as a whole was deliciously good – an ivory gauze runner draped the center of the thin wooden tables and was accented by the thick nude napkins that sat beautifully to the left of the simple ivory chargers. We added an adorable sprig of dried florals to the names at each setting and it added the PERFECT final touch.

Heartfelt Notes

It was clear that the details Emily thought through so carefully were what took this wedding to the next level. One of our favorite elements Emily tied into her day was the heartfelt notes. Emily is a geriatric nurse (could she get any more amazing?!) and asked her patients to write out what love meant to them. Reading all of the wisdom and love that was shared by real people made us tear up a little bit and reminded us that love is sooo powerful. It was a beautiful symbol of how love is shared between everyone.

Designing the floral for Emily and Juan’s wedding day was so much fun for our team. We always love working with local industry professionals and getting creative. Weddings like this remind us how amazing collaboration is! With the combination of Momentous Wedding’s design and styling, our florals, dreamy rentals, and Emily’s perfect eye for detail this wedding at Prospect House had everyone in awe. I encourage you to dive in and really pay attention to all the sweet details of Emily and Juan’s wedding day, it is a special one.
