Alright lovelies, we have a very important question for you… will you be our Valentine?! Can you believe that it is officially February? This year is already moving along so fast we just want to slow it down so we can take it all in! February has one of our favorite holidays of the year, Valentine’s Day: the day dedicated strictly to sharing love.
With Valentine’s Day on the horizon, we are getting prepped and ready for all the lovely weddings and couples we’re designing for here at Good Seed, and we are SO excited!
We just adore this holiday so much. But, before we jump head-first into celebrating with loved ones, we just had to do something for ourselves (but, can you blame us?!) Valentine’s Day is such an inspiring day for everyone in the floral industry so, naturally, we had to do a shoot styled for the holiday!
Let me tell you, this Valentine’s Day floral styled shoot was seriously a dream and SO. MUCH. FUN. We had the opportunity to whip up the sweetest shoot with vibrant reds, pinks, whites, and retro vibes.
After packing our bags we headed out to the beautiful San Clemente, California where Grit and Grace Events Co. secured a location. Then we set up shop at Shop Shani along with some other incredible vendors who helped us add the finishing touches: Signature Party Rentals, Lavenders Flowers, and McKenna Mansfield who perfectly captured the entire shoot. In fact, McKenna Mansfield even used a 35mm film camera for part of the shoot, which was brilliant! The old-school hue of 35mm film worked so well with that overall retro feel we were going for!
Using Valentine’s Day as our muse we had a blast playing around with various styles, floral arrangements, and setups.
The table was set with blush plates, pure glass, and vintage coupes that accented our floral color palette perfectly. Some fun props like a cute heart-shaped cake and an old-school ruby red rotary phone were brought in to elevate the vignette and we were seriously obsessed! We switched between sweet and airy stems in bud vases to a statement centerpiece and had so much fun with our adorable model!
While we loved every aspect and every single second of this styled shoot, we must say we are sooo proud of how our arrangements looked on and against those beautiful ivory pillars. The way the reds, pinks, and whites popped against the simplicity of the ivory was breathtaking! We just had to give ourselves a pat on the back for that. Creating art with floral is such a fun job and we are sooo thankful to be able to do it every day. But, when we are able to work with fellow creatives in the industry and create something like this Valentine’s shoot it makes the job even more special.
