August is slipping away (like a bottle of wine… thank you T-Swift for that amazing line!) And we can’t help but reminisce on the beauty we’ve created lately. As florists we are always searching high and low for natural beauty, lucky for us we’re surrounded by flowers every day! But, sometimes it’s the simple things that are the most beautiful. Shelby and Davis leaned into simplicity for their wedding at Morgan Creek Barn and we can’t get enough!
Queue the good vibes, because this wedding day is loaded with them! Shelby and Davis surround themselves with some incredible people who made their wedding day unforgettable. They chose the gorgeous Morgan Creek Barn in Texas as their wedding venue and it amplified the simple beauty they were searching for! This venue is a stunning modern-rustic spot with grand cathedral ceilings, glistening modern chandeliers, and dreamy black details. We had so much fun working our floral magic in this space!
Neutral, Modern Color Palette
Shelby and Davis’ color scheme included soft salmon pinks, creams, and whites, and featured loads of texture thanks to dried pampas and different types of blooms. To stage their ceremony we dressed up two columns with floral. We began with baby’s breath as a base then added in pops of roses and orchids for dimension and some pampas for that dreamy texture! To carry this design throughout the entire ceremony space we created two aisle markers that sat right at the last row of sandy-colored cross-back chairs. With this delicious combination of florals and details, we knew Shelby and Davis’ dream of a light and airy wedding at Morgan Creek Barn was coming to life.
We’re going to dive into their reception design in just a second, but we have to take a moment and share Shelby and Davis’ first look. It was more of a first touch (Davis didn’t see Shelby), but this sweet moment allowed them to be close and read heartfelt letters to each other! They wanted to share a moment together before the whirlwind of their wedding took off, but also wanted the first time they saw each other to be as Shelby walked down the aisle. So sweet!
Classic Reception Design
Alrighty, let’s talk about this reception space!! Shelby and Davis have been keeping it simple and classy, so naturally their reception reflected that as well. Farm tables were mixed in with round tables and soft cream linens brought the space together nicely. White dinner plates with white gauze napkins tied in a knot were pre-set and looked gorgeous against the delicate florals we created. Candles were the main focus on these tables but of course, we couldn’t t help but add our magic floral touch with pops of blooms that mimicked the design we created for the ceremony. Guests were greeted by the same tall ceilings and beautiful structures they were met with at the ceremony, and the reception space was immediately flooded with love and light. To make their reception space even better Shelby and Davis brought in a custom neon sign that sat directly above them on the fireplace mantel – how cute!!
Shelby and Davis’ wedding at Morgan Creek Barn reminded us of how much beauty we are surrounded by each and every day. No matter how grand or how simple the floral design may be, there is so much beauty in each and every bloom! One of the best parts of our job is seeing couples and their guests gush over the natural beauty of these flowers. Seeing these two share their first dance and party the night away was all we needed to know that their wedding day was the event of their dreams! To have a small part in bringing their vision to life is sooo rewarding. Thank you Shelby and Davis for inviting us into your love story and trusting us to bring such a special day to life with you. Now, don’t mind us we’ll be drooling over these photos for a while!
